Key Holding & Alarm Response

Get a Free Security Assessment

Alarm activations rarely happen at convenient times. Our keyholding service saves you the time, cost and risks of managing the response yourself.

Your property is in safe hands. Our keyholding service is SIA-approved, and all keyholders are licensed security professionals. They are trustworthy and reliable individuals who respect your staff, assets and property.

Keyholding and alarm response

Keyholding and alarm response saves you the hassle of dealing with alarms, especially when they’re false activations in the early hours.

The service can be delivered 24/7, at specific times of the day or night, or just at weekends or periods of high risk.

What happens when an alarm is triggered?

  • Security teams at our NSI Gold Category 1 24/-hour response centre filter it for false activation
  • When it’s a genuine alarm, they’ll initiate the appropriate response
  • If the situation demands, they’ll send one of our local mobile patrols to the property
  • When necessary, they’ll initiate a blue light response from the emergency services
  • You’ll get a full report to confirm when and why the alarm was triggered, and the actions taken in response

It’s an adaptable service, and we’re here to recommend options which fit your budget. Call the CSG team on 0844 561 0578 for a chat, or send a message.

To give you some examples, the following can easily be adapted and blended:

  • Property maintenance checks, inside and outside
  • Security inspections, with recommendations for fixing vulnerabilities
  • An open and lock-up service
  • Water system drain down for vacant properties
  • Testing and resetting intruder alarms and CCTV systems

Key features of keyholding and alarm response

Staff safety

Keyholding keeps your employees safe. With security professionals attending alarm activations, it eliminates the risk of untrained staff encountering an intruder.

24/7 alarm response

The keyholding service is integrated with our alarm receiving centre. It gives you a rapid, professional response to security breaches, day and night, 365 days a year.

False alarm filtering

Trained responders filter alarm triggers for false activation. As a result, you won’t endure the regular hassle of investigating false alarms at unsociable hours.

Open and lock-up service

Keyholding can include locking and unlocking. SIA-licensed officers open and close the premises, set alarms and secure access points.

Insurance compliance

Trained professionals carry out regular security and maintenance checks. They provide detailed reports — documentary proof of insurance compliance.

Proactive risk management

Prevention is better than cure. Timely alerts to security vulnerabilities or maintenance issues allow for quick action, before problems become costly.

FAQs

You may have some questions about keyholding and alarm response. We’ve answered some of the most common questions here, although please feel free to call us on 0844 561 0578.

Can I trust your personnel with the keys to my premises?

Yes. All keyholding personnel are highly trained security professionals accredited by the Security Industry Authority (SIA). They will always carry out their duties with diligence and respect for your staff, assets and property.

As well as being SIA-trained, all officers are vetted in accordance with BS7858 standards. It’s the primary benchmark for vetting staff who have access to sensitive areas, confidential data, valuable assets or keyholding responsibilities.

Which types of property can you provide the service for?

Keyholding and alarm response can be for virtually any type of commercial property. Offices, retail parks, multi-tenanted residential blocks, medical and leisure facilities can all benefit.

The service is particularly valuable at vacant properties. It helps you manage the multiple risks associated with empty premises — crime, building deterioration, weather damage and so on.

How do you deal with alarms at our premises?

CSG’s accredited keyholders work in collaboration with our NSI Gold Category 1 alarm receiving centre (ARC). When an alarm is triggered, ARC responders immediately assess the cause and initiate the appropriate response.

The response depends on the specific situation, and on your own preferences. For example, ARC responders can contact your designated individual or, where necessary, they’ll send a keyholding mobile security officer to the premises.

Will keyholders liaise with the emergency services if required?

If the situation requires a blue light response, yes they will. What’s more, because the callout has come from an accredited security company, the emergency response can be faster. They know it’s a genuine emergency, not a false alarm.

How can keyholding help with insurance compliance?

Insurance companies generally impose strict regulations on providing cover for commercial premises, particularly vacant properties. Insurers expect proactive risk prevention to avoid claims following criminal activity, electrical faults, fire, water leaks or environmental damage.

Our keyholding service reduces these types of risks because keyholders carry out regular maintenance and security checks. We provide detailed reports, so you can prove to your insurer that the risks are being managed efficiently. This can reduce premiums, and it means insurance can be easier to find.
